Hi Prof.D Lauro
During my winter break my family and I have many plans. We are having Christmas dinner at our house.My husband's parents and sister with their families will joining us. After Christmas we will be visiting New Port,Rhode Island mansions for New Year Eve. We will stay at Marriott Hotel. On our return trip we will stop at Mark Twain's house in Connecticut. My mother has enjoyed his writing for many years and she will be thrilled to visit it. We are keeping this a secret and she will be pleasantly surprised.After returning home we will soon be on our normal schedule.

Every nationality celebrates the Christmas Holiday differently. In my native country of Moldova we celebrate Christmas on the7 th of January .Two days before the holiday every woman is busy cooking and baking her favorite recipes. The smell of delicacies is spread through out the town.We prepare the dinning room table with our best china and silverware in expectation of our friends and relatives visiting. Christmas dinner is served on Christmas Eve. The children dress in costumes similarly to Halloween. They gather together and go caroling through out the neighborhoods.Some children play instruments while other sing. Many adults give the kids treats like candy and Christmas cookies.I miss celebrating Christmas at home with my family.

Today while driving I was listening to the local radio station. They were playing Christmas music performed by famous singers like Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Elvis.
I shook my head with the rhythm of music, my mood filed with joy and happiness. The melodies were very well known and I remembered the concert that we saw recently. The school orchestra where my daughter was playing gave a Christmas performance. At the end of concert the audience sung many popular Christmas songs with the school choir. And I thought how many generations have grown with these lovely melodies. Every year we have listen to the same Christmas music and we never feel tired of listening to them again and again. The old classics are my favorites and are much nicer than new versions. Every Christmas the same music fills us with joy and happiness, and reminds us of our childhood memories.

Hi Prof. D Lauro
Something happened with the blog. I couldn't post the last three posts. Maybe the blog is overfilled or tired.Because I typed all day long and feel exhausted. I'm waiting from you a response. You said that if I will write a long story of one thousand words maybe I will pass the class with good grades. I wrote a few of them.But I don't count the words, because the blog doesn't have the word process.I would like to know what time you will be in tomorrow for your Thursday class to meet you.

I would like to tell you my story when I had deal with police.
I abide by the law and never had a deal with police before. I was never arrested or locked in a car behind a screen. Many people dislike the police, because when people get caught doing violations they try to make excuses. But this is only one view. The main goal of the police is to prevent the accidents to help people to avoid situations when people can be injure.
It was Mother's Day. The weather was delightful, still and calm. The sun was brightly shining. The leaves began to bloom,the air was warm and sweet, when I decided to ride my bike to the Ocean County Mall for a present for myself.
The first unexpected event was waiting for me in the center of Toms River. The main street of the city was blocked off for the Mother's Day festival. A lot of people were there.A band was playing county music, The people were dancing and laughing. The smell of fresh cooking spread all over us. The children were fooling around and having fun.The happiness of the place matched my mood.I participated. I ate a delicious hot sandwich, drank an icy strawberry smoothy, sang and danced a while and continued my ride to the mall.
The next thing that made me happy was, that I bought a present for myself. I was completely satisfied and went home . I thought the shortest way to get home would be theparkway, but cars were going so fast that I couldn't cross the roud. All the cars were beeping their horns I didn't understand why? I still rode on.
Suddenly Iheard a police siren. "You have to be careful. Probobly an accidentis in front of you,'' that was my thought. But the police blocked my way. I froze with fear. The police started questioning me.Where do I live ,where am I going to ,Where have Ibeen. I explained but he still asked me the same questions. After I showed my receipt he asked me did I know how far is my hone from the mall? I said that I didn't have a clue.He said that it is about 30 miles. He checked my documents took my byce and put it in the trunk of his car. Opened back door and said,"take a seat." On the way I was frightened,because I didn't know where he was taking me.I didn't have anyone who could help me.What will be whith me? And finally I didn't understand what wrong I did? When the policeman stopped the car he asked me if I recognized the street and if I knew how to get home from here. I said,"Yes." It was Lasey Roud. The policeman took the bicefrom his trunk and said that I have to give him a promise never to ride the bicycle on the parkway again. He didn't give me any ticket or fee. I couldn't believe that he was only helping me. He said that I made one huge mistake when I took a bycicle ride on the parkway. It was very dangerous for me because an accident could happen to me. Only when I get home I realized the danger I put myself in. I was so thankful for the kindness of the policeman who helped me. I still do not know his name. In spite of this incedent my day ended well.

Our pet Bobo

We have a pet. The pet is not regular pet, dog or cat, we have a Double Yellow Amazon parrot.His name is Bobo. Anyone who had ever dealt with birds knows about strange traits of character Double Yellow Amazon parrots. This kind bird doesn't like people they are not familiar with.The bird can attack so fast and bite hard enough to draw blood. I had my own bad experience of feeding Bobo. But sometimes I have to take care about her. She very likes my husband., because he raised her from the babies. Bobo likes my daughter,I think that Bobo thinks that Anastasia is her daughter. But Bobo doesn't like me. My husband explained to me that the bird is very jealous of other females. I thought that my husband was exaggerating the bird's human qualities,but the reality prove that Bobo has personality and character almost humans have.The bird participates in our conversations.Every time adds some sounds in tone that conversations are required;for me this remains a mystery. How does she know when to speak, and what tone to use? Sometimes I have to take care about it. At that time I had made my own rules to avoid unpleasant moments. After opened gate of the cage I have to hide behind corner; otherwise if she sees me she will not leave the cage. I have to give her time to climb to the top of the cage where she feels safe. Than I take the bowls from the cage to wash and dry them in the kitchen. I fill one of them with water and second with food. I always must remember that the first bowl that go into the cage is the bowl with water;otherwise if I put the bowl with food the starving bird goes in the cage and doesn't give me chance to put the water bowl in. She will attackme thinking that I will take her food away;to avoid that I have to put the bowl with the food last. Before I put the bowl in I have to shake the bowl to make noise to get bird's attention and say," Look what I get for you Bobo." She will answer in words that she had learned by time,"Nutri-berry,harrisons."I will responded," Yes, you right",put the bowl in side,than step away.Let her run in and close the gate. The rules work very well. I share with them with our neighbor who occasionally babysts the bird in our absent.

The Place where we live

I want to share with you the beauty of the place where we live. There are many beautiful places on the world where we were, or wanted to visit,or live. I never had the experience of living at the water. Now I think that I will never be tired of seeing the view of the bay and of the wild land that surrounding our house. In every season of the year and every hour of the day the view is always changing and every time it is wonderful.When I come home from the trip the smell of the bay in the first moment made me drunk so sweet, fresh, clean, and unpolluted is it. I cannot confuse this smell with anything else. I like to sit on the bench in the early morning when the sun rises and paints everything in the lilac color,when all is quiet and peaceful.Especially beautiful is the view of the bay in summer on a warm days when there all kinds of boats,especially big sailing boats.When there is a storm over the bay,the view is spectacular. The huge waves crashes on the beach scattering in enormous amounts of splashes. The foam covers all around us it looks like snow. The next day all is shining and sparkling from the salt, it looks like loose diamonds.We like to swim in the lagoon in hot summer days.The water is refreshing and removes the pressure of the hot day. We like to observe the birds. In the summer ducks and geese have babies. The babies are so cute. The swans live here all year. When I feed it,the swan takes the bread from my hands. Last January we saw a seal in the lagoon.We took a picture and recorded on camera. To observe the seal was awesome,unreal. To describe the beauty of the bay I have to be a great writer.I love the place where we live.But in this fall in front of the view a new house is being built ,and blocks almost the whole view of the bay. I was upset but such reality I have expected.

Last weekend we took my mom to see Longwood Garden in Pennsylvania. We have had season passes for several years, because we like this place so much. But my mom of course saw it for the first time. When we arrived there we had to wait in line for more than 30 minutes to park our car. In that moment my mom said maybe its not necessary to sees this place because of crowd. But when we walked in she was silent for several minutes. After this she admitted that the waiting time was worth it. She couldn't believe her eyes and carefully touched every flower and smelled it to prove that they are really live flowers and not fake. The beauty of the conservatory couldn't be described in any language.The Christmas decorations, flowers, fountains, and music all make the place unreal. Despite the crowd we had a great time and wonderful memory forever.

I admire how Americans care about nature. In the state of New Jersey there are many wildlife sanctuaries. We like to observe the migrations of birds;very often we drive to south Jersey to observe them.I was pleasantly surprised as to how thoughtfully and carefully the sanctuary was planned.All walkways were made to avoid and protect the wildlife, but still give visitors and tourists a chance to observe the birds. During all four seasons wehave met many tourists that have made a special trips over a long distance to watch the bird's migrations.They are equipped with strong binoculars that help them to see nature up close. The sancturies has binoculars installed and cost 25 cents for several minutes. After visiting this place I feel calm, peacefully, and relaxed. I look forward to our next visit to enjoy the spring migration.

I thought," How do you know that?" Now I understand, because all the students had written about themselves in the blog. Now is my turn to write about myself. I really don't enjoy talking or writing about myself.
I like to read books when I have spare time.There was a time when I did not have any books in Russian and couldn't read English. It was tough time. The passion for reading motivated me to read in English. The very first full book that I read was a book written by Janet Evanovich,"One for the Money". I bought the entire series . I like her style of writing. Janet Evanovich has written many others books with co-authors, but I think that she is repeating herself.But my favorite books forever are "Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell and "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austin.The language that was used in the writing is very different from the language that we speak now. It was difficult for me to read. I was reading with a dictionary.I already knew these books from reading in my native language, that helped me to understand the stoties of books.

About Christmas.
Hi Prof.D.Lauro.
Christmas is my favored time of the year. The very first time that I saw beautiful Christmas decorations in America,I was overwhelmed. Every family spends lots of time and money to make their houses unique. Many people feel that they are competing with they neighbors. Some people put so much passion's in their decorations that other people make a special effort to drive by and gaze.
This year my mother is visiting us from Moldova. She could not believe how beautiful the streets , buildings, and houses are. She could not hardly describe to her friends and grandchildren how special the Holidays are to many people. We almost every evening walk or drive by different streets in our neighborhood to see any new decorations. I feel that I want to tell all the people that decorated a huge "Thank you for your hard work to make the Holidays special"

Just after class I checked my blog and understand that essay that had sign "draft" never was published, but so bed and so late. I glad that finally I understand where my mistakes are, again better late than never.Now I have to work harder than I did . Moments like this it so embarrasses for me.
In the beginning of the semester I thought "Who will be my classmates ?" When I saw them I was frustrated if I 'm in right class? Because all of them just from High School!I thought that my classmates will be people in age or people who do not finish High School for some reasons but not young kids just after school.I had questions why they here? Why are they not in in level 151 or 152? Why, why.why?In the last class we had conversation about education system in High School.It was very interesting for me. Kids were answered for some my questions. I still do not believe that teachers in High School do not teach children how they suppose to do . If my knowledge is right that the teacher themselves have constantly taking a test to improve or prove they diplomas.Probably the kids were not doing great in school, but the percentage of kids who are take class 011 or below is very high .Maybe I do not understand again something but in time I will figure it out. Why I'm so concerned about it? Because I have 15 years old daughter. I really do not want she will waist time in school or spend time to review for few years in college.

Thank for your answer.I registered for next semester, but I canceled one class because I'm nerves that English-151 has five essay longer than thousand words. To answer your question that what I will be doing in few years ahead, probably if all be OK I hopefully will be finish the nurse program courses.Because I take only three classes by semester, it will be a long way before finish.But better late than never. I hope that I have enough strength and inspiration.I want to tell about your blog. I only now realized that every teachers had a web cite that students can connect with and from all of them only one yours was productive while semester, keep us thinking and working. Thank for your answer.I registered for next semester, but I canceled one class because I'm nerves that English-151 has five essay longer than thousand words. To answer your question that what I will be doing in few years ahead, probably if all be OK I hopefully will be finish the nurse program courses.Because I take only three classes by semester, it will be a long way before finish.But better late than never. Twelf assignment

Next semester I will take the literature class 151 and I would like to know what do you think about it; if I'm ready for this level of English? I'm nerves because I know that my grammar is still week. Another my class is Anatomy. I took Anatomy in High School and had good greats, but it was more than 30 years ago and was in my native language. I'm not sure how I will succeed, because of the subject terminology;and I'm sure that I will work a lot and hard. I'm not complaining, I'm a workaholic but I want to be successful.

During the fall semester in writing class I learned few new skills that helped my to be more confident and independent in writing.I look less for helping from family.Now I know how to search for information on the internet and use this to assist my writting.I gradually overcome my fear of writting; I think this is credited to writting on the blog.This was a good idea, because I constantly practicing to express my thoughts and organize them on paper.This exercise has made a great improving in my writting skills; but I still concern about my grammar skill. The lest class, the grammar exercise that we were practicing ,I enjoyed.I would like to have it more often.assignment

Don Knotts and his characters
Here my thoughts about great actors who weren't reward
There was a time when my English was very poor, while watch TV was difficult. There was one particular show I was able to understand.That was "Andy Griffin show". I didn't understand a word but to watch performance of actor who was playing a deputy give me a great pleasure .His gesture and reactions I can understand without words. Afterwards I saw him in different show or movie but he never was playing a main character. I believe that him not being in any great movies was a waist of his talent.Sometimes an actor can be remembered and recognized by one great character even the character wasn't a main part of show or movie.Don Knotts is a great example of this.

Thank you for all the presents I have received from you every Christmas. As you know my Christmas wishes have grown bigger as I have grown older. My biggest wish is be ageless, at list to stay in this age that I'm now,I really do not want get older. I also have a "life to do list'' and would like have time to gradually complete it. The next big wish is for all my relatives to be healthy and happy, and for my two children to be successful.Lastly I wish to be more productive,intelligent and to improve my writing skills.As you can see my list has really grown to be complicate, this is just a reflection of my age.Thank you for ally our blessings.

About camedy
Hi Professor D. Lauro.
I like to watch comedy with Adam Sandler. His movies are very popular all over the world. Since I saw his movie "Happy Gilmore'', back than I lived in Moldova, I became his fan. I enjoy watch his movie on weekends with my family.His characters never gives up, make me laugh.His roles always are optimistic, trying to find a solutions to a difficult situations.The solutions most the time is crazy,out of the ordinary. Despite the fact that his characters are dumb and stupid,he is still kind and caring.His heroes try protect and help people who are in trouble. In the end his movies he is always successful. After watching his movies the audience takes in his optimism, good emotions; and they are ready to meet and defeat their life problems.

You right time so fast that in couple weeks the semester will gone is not awful? I think in age time is shrinking. Every day I make my list that I have to do and in evening when day almost over I think it is good that day is over I'm so tired; but some things from list I didn't finish and wish that day can be longer. I don't understand people who think the life is boring.Every day is the same. Before I do my list things to do I even don't have time to think about be boring. In the beginning of the course I thought that the semester would seem long however it has went so quickly. In couple days it will be Thanksgiving! I love holidays. Entire family will be together. The house will be filled with the smell of delicious Thanksgiving dinner. The noise of music, talking and cooking makes me excited. Dear partner,
I cannot abide by the circumstances any more. Before I take a counter attack I would like to understand what type of person you are?. We share a common work space ,but we have never met each other because we work in different time. I would like to know what you think how I keep the desk and files ? Do you notice that I never leave the work space on mess? Many times you leave empty battles or cafe caps and candy wrappers on the desk; the rubbish-bin beside the desk why you ever put it in? ;or do not put the staff in place where they belong.Maybe you don't know that we do not have janitors and person who is vacuumed the office will not clean the desk? Maybe you leave your mess to irritate me for purpose? I try make excuses for you, thought in time you will notify how it suppose to be. As of right now, I do not see much difference. Maybe you are left-handed? Why you always move files and staff on the desk? I waist lot of my time every day to find papers or files that needs for work. This is annoyed me, make me anger,because I always late with the papers. Every morning now I unwillingly go to work. I think this letter can help to both of us, to work peacefully. I really do not want to complain to our boss or undertake firm measures ;I think and hope we can find compromise.

What it mean to me to be a student? When I decided to go in college I automatically sign obligation with myself. When I have deal with myself I have to be more than honest because I will be a judge for myself. How can I lie for myself,or make excuses for not doing homework or absence from school. The second part of this deal is I will take a time from my family and work, how can I cheat with people who believe in me and trust me.
Yes I very serious take the education because this my future and obligation to the people who gave me a chance to have this opportunity.I take an educations time like work and try to do this work well as possible; the college do they part of obligation very well to . They provide all kind supply that education process require. The teachers are very supportive, friendly and indulgent.

Finally I have adjusted to the schedule and to the learning material.My fear still stay with me but now I can fight with it. My day time classes require more time for preparing to the next class and that made me to cut off my work time. Before this semester I had evening classes.Another different from previous class is that the students in this class are native speakers and they fluently understand English and they use computers much faster than I do. I slowly but surely follow them.Most of them wrote essay just in lab time class but for me took a long day to create essay in 700 words.Maybe with the lateness but I will answer all questions that teacher stayed in front of us.I think that my expectations are satisfied. I'm late with my answer to the fifth assignment. But better late than never. When I was a girl at the age of 10 I can't understood this quote.One day my mom had a visitor .He was her former student. In the end of conversation he said :''Sorry I'm late with my thanks."She replayed :"Better late than never.'' They both were smiling and I understood what this mean ; we can be late but better be late than never tell people thanks.This is most of my favour quotes. Here one more "If you are going through hell, keep going" I know we have to do so many tings that we don't like it but we have to do what we have to do and sooner I finish unpleasant tings the faster I be freedom from it.

Conversation
Hi Professor D.Lauro
Subjects of my conversations defends on whom I'm talking with. With friends from OOC usually discussions are about our success or failure in school or in the end of semester we consider about new taking classes.With my mom and daughter we can talk almost about everything, but our favors conversations are about TV show, books, articles about actors. With countrymen we discuss the news that occur since last conversation. I think even meaningless conversations make our lives more colorful because we spend the time with our favor people.

Yellowstone issue
Dear Professor D. Lauro
Here my thoughts about Yellowstone issue. People have and always will reside to live in beautiful places like Yellowstone National Park. The beauty of nature attract and seduce humanity.People lose their sense of fear and reality of danger.Probably many of us realize the danger of living near water; but how many of us still live along rivers or near ocean?People who lived in Louisiana they knew that they live below the ocean level.Despite of repeat dangerous appearances people reconstruct their dwellings.All kind of media were spread around the word the Katrina hurricane prediction; but how many people even so suffered from Katrina hurricane?I think humanity is a part of nature and ineluctable disaster we have expected anyway.

Thoughts about languages
Good morning Professor D. Lauro.
English is my second language .I will tell what process go on in my head.Yes I still think in my native language.The sentancis structure is different. The direct translation of words doesn't bear the same meanings of thoughts this convey to the misunderstanding.I know over time if I constantlly will read, write, speak,and practice I will think in English. I hardly wait this moment.And this process already starts.Sometimes when I look for a word in a dictionary and the dictionar gives me the traslation of the word, I know the meaning is not right. I don't translat phrases wich I use evry day .They stay in my head in English.The langauges are change over time but I thought the basic will remain unchangeable.
